In a state like Queensland, where water activities are part of our lifestyle, the safety of our children and families in and around the water is paramount. Water safety is a life skill which starts from the moment a child comes into contact with water through all stages to adult life.
As part of our Health and Physical program students from Year 1 are encouraged to participate in Swimming lessons during Term 4. These lessons will be held over one week in a 4 lesson block and will be supported with theory lessons back at school on water safety.
Week 8- Monday 20th November
Week 8- Tuesday 21st November
Week 8- Wednesday 22nd November
Week 8- Thursday 23rd November
The 45 minute swimming lesson will be held during the school day and will be provided by qualified swim instructors from the new Swim Factory at the shopping centre on Dublin Avenue, Spring Mountain. Students will walk to and from the swimming venue supervised by school staff . We hope to see the majority of our students taking the opportunity to receive these swimming lessons at a very reasonable cost of $22 for four lessons.
The students wear their swimmers under their clothes to school, take off their uniforms and school shoes at school and walk to swimming in their swimming gear, towel and thongs/slide-on shoes.
Students will then put their uniform back over their swimwear once they return to school. Students can stay in the swimming shorts. We do not have change rooms at school. If a parent requires their child to change out of the swimwear please contact your class teacher to discuss.

thongs/slide-on shoes to wear to and from the pool
Cost : The cost for the four lessons is $22.00. This payment is non-refundable as all swimming lessons are paid in advance.
Invoices will be emailed to you. Please use the link provided on the Invoice to make payment. Preferred payment is via QParents or BPoint. Payments can also be made via Eftpos. All payments must be made by MONDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2023
